Shatha Edrees awarded the ‘Excellence in Finance Leaders’ award at FiNext Conference Dubai 2020.
Dubai 2020. Shatha Edrees is the Director-General Management of Finance at Effat University, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and an adjunct lecturer of Finance and Investment courses in the College of Business.
Shatha holds an MBA in strategic management from the Maastricht School of Management, and an Executive Masters in Islamic finance from the Ecole Supérieure des Affaires (ESA) in conjunction with Rotterdam School of Management, ERASMUS University delivered at Effat University. She is a CFA level-2 candidate.
She is the first and only Saudi female to hold the Chartered Market Technician, CMT designation, besides, she is a Certified Financial Technician (CFTe), and a member of the Society of Technical Analysts.
In her current role, she oversees the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization, ensuring compliance of accounting and fiscal practices with Effat University’s statutes, rules, regulations, and Board policy.
In addition, her lead practice in utilizing the Bloomberg terminal in her teaching has led her to be the only faculty speaker in the Bloomberg for Education launching event in Riyadh 2019.
Shatha also wrote a weekly column in Arab News, titled ‘Speaking Technically’ to educate the public and spread proper awareness on technical analysis and its importance in making investment decisions, with the main focus on the Saudi Stock Market.
